HP Notebook 15-dy1076nr

I have an HP notebook 15-dy1076nr. I recently went on a trip and following the flight the backlight for my laptops display stopped working. When I left it on for a half an hour it randomly turned back on but then when I turned it on another time it won’t work again. The led display works, I can tell because shining a light on it shows that it’s working. I am wondering if there is a software fix I can do myself or if I need to take it to someone to get the backlight replaced. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop display.

 

Follow the below steps to access the BIOS menu.

 

1) Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer. (Wait for a few seconds after releasing the power button)

2) Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu is displayed, press the f10 to access the BIOS menu.

 

If the issue appears on the BIOS menu, there is an issue with the hardware.

Or

Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the BIOS and let me know if that fixes the issue.

 

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
