Hello
I opened my laptop and one of the hinges popped out and that caused the screen to crack from the bottom corner. The laptop has never been dropped or anything. I was opening it normally and that happened. The laptop is out of warranty. How is your poor quality product is my fault?
From reading posts the issue is actually common which make it more obvious that the problem is the poor quality parts and faulty manufacturing of this laptop.
On 20th November 2021 I bought a HP - ENVY x360 Convert 13.3" 2 in 1 Laptop - Intel® Core™ i5, 512 GB SSD. The laptop was not opened until December 25thmand cost €838.
In June 2022 the laptop stopped working as it was stuck in the reboot cycle. It was like the laptop could not find the hard drive. The laptop was subsequently to the UK ref# 556122, the motherboard was found to be faulty and replaced. I collected the laptop on 9th July 2022. The laptop was wiped resulting in massive inconvenience as a lot of valuable work had been lost.
The laptop worked again as expected until April 2023 when the same issue re occurred. I again took the laptop to Currys Liffey Valley, Ireland on April 29th 2023 and was told that the laptop was out of warranty. I explained about the repair and was told the repair was only guaranteed for 3 months!!!!. The Currys representative was apologetic but said that my only option was to pay an additional €85 to have the laptop reassessed after which I would be contacted with a quote to repair, I was informed that I would be liable for this cost. As a gesture of goodwill, customer service said they would speak to the store manager about reducing the assessment fee. Customer Service apologized and said I was just unlucky.
The issue was finally resolved on the 16th May 2023 and the store fix the laptop again. This was done free of charge as it was a fault with the laptop.
Now the laptop hinge popped out and that caused the screen to crack from the bottom corner. The laptop has been well look after and barely used due to all the above. This laptop was for my son for school. He has resorted to using his Lenovo that we bought him in 2019!! No issues.
I there a major problem with this laptop
