My laptop seems to be working fine, all of the buttons and keyboard lights work, and when I connect my laptop to my tv via hdmi it works okay. However, my laptop screen is constantly black since a couple of days ago. There has been no external damage to the screen. I had been using my laptop screen perfectly a few hours before this incident occurred, I powered the laptop of like usual and sat it down in a safe place. When I attempted to use my laptop later, it turned on and made all of the right noises and the power button lit up. However, the screen was completely black. I've tried every possible troubleshoot solution and they all say the screen if perfectly okay, yet it is still pitch black and shows no signs of turning back on. Normally I would suspect that the laptop might have been damaged from a drop or a hit. However, I sat by the laptop for the entire time I wasn't using it and nothing at all happened to it. Therefore, I am completely flummoxed as to how my laptop screen has suddenly entered a seemingly eternal phase of darkness and I am ever so curious to figure out how to fix this issue.

Probably failure of screen or cable but try this first
Connect to TV set and bring up windows device manager.
Any errors or unknown devices? If errors then wrong device driver got installed. Try to roll the driver back. Post back here for help if necessary.
If no errors then probably hard failure.
Try opening the screen as far as you can and wiggle back and forth and look for any type of signal on the display. If you see something then possibly the cable from motherboard to screen can be replaced otherwise the display is shot.

What do you mean by the display is shot? I attempted to do what you said and there were no errors and I didn't see any signal of light when wiggling the screen back and forth. Therefore, I assume that my display is shot. Is there a solution for this?

Go here and put in your serial number and look for the part number and description for the display of your system
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/
then go here and see which one is needed

There is the possibility the problem is on the motherboard and not the display.
Were any errors reported by the device manager when you had it on an external monitor?
Get an estimate from a shop and then compare to used eBay prices.
