I have a Portable docking station and using the type c port to connect my 2 samsung monitors using HDMI cables. Laptop is not recognizing the external monitors. Works if plugging directly into laptop HDMI port for 1 monitor. Checked for drivers, updated, etc. Still no luck. My docking station was purchased in 2019.

For example : HP Laptop 17-cp0039nw
Your machine should have SAME ports. It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
