Hi @Arya432,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP laptop screen goes black during operation or gaming, and the keyboard light flickers. There are several potential solutions you can try to resolve this issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop.

  • Disconnect all external devices, such as USB drives or monitors.

  • Unplug the AC adapter.

  • If the battery is removable, remove it. If it's non-removable, skip this step.

  • Hold the power button down for at least 15 seconds.

  • Reconnect the AC adapter and battery (if removed), but do not connect any external devices.

  • Turn on the laptop and see if the issue persists.

Check for Driver and BIOS Updates:

  • Ensure all drivers, especially graphics drivers, are updated using the HP Support Assistant or Windows Update.

  • Check for BIOS updates on the Official HP® Support and follow the provided instructions to update if needed.

Reseat Connections:

  • Loose or improper cable connections can cause screen flickers. If you are comfortable, check and reseat all connections inside the laptop after disconnecting the power and battery.

Monitor Temperature Levels:

  • Overheating can cause the screen to turn black. Ensure the laptop's cooling vents are not blocked. You might want to clean the vents and fans with compressed air.

Check Power and Display Settings:

  • Ensure your power and display settings in Windows are not causing the screen to turn off unexpectedly.

  • Go to settings and check that the display timeout settings aren't set too low.

Test with Minimum Configuration:

  • Remove any extra components like additional RAM or external devices to see if one of them might be causing a conflict.

Replace Faulty Components:

  • If the problem persists, get your laptop serviced. There might be a need to replace faulty components like the display cable, graphics card, or even the display panel itself.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
