Hi @Abdullah119,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Pavilion G4 screen turning green with scattered pixels. Let’s go through a few checks.

Step 1: Check If Issue Appears in BIOS

  • Restart the laptop.
  • Repeatedly tap F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Observe the screen carefully.
  • If the screen is green in BIOS, the issue is hardware-related (not Windows).

Step 2: Connect to an External Monitor

  • Connect the laptop to a TV or monitor using HDMI or VGA.
  • Press Windows + P and select Duplicate.
  • Check if the external display also appears green.
  • If the external monitor looks normal, the laptop screen (LCD panel) is likely faulty.
If the external monitor also shows green and pixel distortion, the graphics chip is likely failing.

Step 3: Gently Move the Screen

  • Slowly tilt the screen backward and forward.
  • Watch if the green tint changes or flickers.
  • If the color changes when moving the screen, the display cable may be loose.

Step 4: Reinstall Graphics Driver (If Windows Only)

  • If BIOS looks normal:
  • Right-click Start and open Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters.
  • Right-click the graphics device.
  • Select Uninstall device.
  • Restart the laptop.
  • Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Step 5: Consider Hardware Age

Since this is a 2011 model:

Green tint everywhere

Pixel artifacts

Appearing even before Windows

Most commonly indicates:

Failing GPU (graphics chip)

Failing LCD panel

On older Pavilion G4 models, GPU failure is common due to age and heat.

If the issue appears in BIOS and on an external monitor, the motherboard graphics chip is likely failing. If only the internal screen shows green, replacing the LCD panel or display cable may resolve it.

I hope this helps.
