Hi @SijinScariachan,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your notebook display turns pink in color

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Were there any recent hardware/software changes?

Are you using the original Charger to charge the notebook?

When was the last time it worked fine?

Please follow these steps given below:

Step 1: Check the display in BIOS:

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly, about once every second.

Step 2: Update the BIOS. Follow steps from the Link

If the issue persist, it is hardware related. I would request you contact our phone support.

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

* Enter Product number or select to auto detect

* Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

* Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get a Case & phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

> Is it an issue regarding LCD screen?

Maybe.

If it is the video-circuitry on the motherboard, add an external monitor, and make it "clone" the internal display.

If both the "internal" and the "external" monitors go PINK at the same time, it is the video-circuitry.

If your laptop is under warranty, exercise the warranty, to get the motherboard fixed.

If not, then a [costly] replacement motherboard, or a [costly] replacement laptop, is your next step.

Note that colours on a display are "additive", by mixing the 3 "primary" colours.

Mix 100% brightness of all 3 colours, and you see "white".

Mix 50% brightness of all 3 colours, and you see "gray".

If you "lose" one of those 3 colours, then the remaining 2 colours mix to give you one of 3 mixes, and  PINK is one of those 3 possible mixes.

How to "lose" a primary colour?

It could be the LCD display.

It could be the ribbon-cable between the motherboard and the display.

It could be the motherboard.
