HP 15-da0000 Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has recently stopped showing any light from the screen. If you shine a flashlight up to the screen you can barely see, but otherwise it just looks black. I thought my computer wasn't turning on at all until I connected it to a second monitor and the second monitor pulled up the screen just fine. How do I fix this? I have used the virtual assistant many times now and haven't been able to fix this issue. I also can't get in contact with any real agent to ask if I could send my computer back for them to fix as it is still under warranty. I am really frustrated and in need of a fix.

@GretchenD1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Have you tried connecting the AC power adapter and check if the issue persists?

This seems to be an issue with the display screen as the external monitor is working fine when connected without making any changes to the display settings.

Go into Windows Control Panel>>Power Options>>Power Management, Select adjust plan brightness, Use the slider and increase until the end. Click save changes.

Or use Fn key + F10 Key to increase the brightness.

And, also refer to this video link: Click here Troubleshooting a Dim Display.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
