@Rolexxx, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Based on what I see, your HP laptop screen is showing a small, glitchy, static block near the top center of a mostly black screen. This typically suggests a GPU issue, corrupted BIOS/UEFI, or severe system file corruption. Here's how you can troubleshoot it step by step:

Hard Reset the Laptop

  • Power off the laptop completely.
  • Disconnect the charger.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and power it back on.

Check External Display Output

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor via HDMI or VGA.
  • If the external monitor shows the display correctly:

>The issue could be with the internal screen or GPU-to-screen connection.

  • If the external monitor also shows the same glitch:

>It’s likely a GPU or motherboard issue.

BIOS Recovery

Try BIOS recovery using this method:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press and hold Win + B and then press the Power button (keep holding Win + B).
  • Release all keys when the screen shows something or after about 10–15 seconds.
  • If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions.

Try Booting to Recovery Media

Create a bootable Windows USB using the Media Creation Tool.

Insert it into your laptop and boot from it (usually pressing Esc or F9 on startup).

If you can see the recovery or installation screen clearly, the OS may be corrupted and might need a reset or reinstall.
