Hi @BlueThunder000

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. If the laptop was previously detecting the HDMI-connected display and has now stopped doing so, even after trying multiple ports, that can interrupt a smooth multi-screen setup.

To help narrow this down before providing specific troubleshooting, could you share:

  1. What is the HP laptop model?
  2. Which operating system are you using (Windows 11, Windows 10, etc.)?
  3. Is the external monitor showing "No Signal," or is it not appearing at all in Display Settings?
  4. Have you already tried a different HDMI cable and confirmed the monitor works with another device?
  5. Did this begin after a Windows update, BIOS update, graphics driver update, or docking station change (if applicable)?

Also, please let us know if:

  • The laptop screen itself is working normally.
  • The monitor is connected directly to the laptop or through a dock/adapter.

Once we have these details, we can provide the most appropriate troubleshooting steps for the display detection issue.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
