hp spectre x360 convertible 15-bl1XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

My notebook hp spectre x360 convertible 15-bl1XX has worked correctly about 1 year. One month ago i have seen strange light (white, light-blue - it is depends ob color of windows on the screen) blocks from top of screen till open window on the screen.

This block is moved with open windows.

I have installed the latest versions of video drivers.

What could it be?

Sorry for poor english

@AlexCherny,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

If you continue facing the issue, then boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 on startup and check whether you are able to duplicate the issue on the BIOS screen.

Also, check with an external monitor or TV whether the display is working fine.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi, dear Fossette!

Thanks a lot for your help!

I have updated the BIOS by the latest version - no change.

You can see some photos from screen of my HP Spectre here - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6fkjqjzj60zd2sk/AADt3NlFOXnTpX71YbtIWoTAa?dl=0

I will try to check with an external monitor later.

My sincerely wishes,

Oleksandr

@AlexCherny,

Thank you for keeping me posted.

Did you check in BIOS?

Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Good day!

Hi, Fossette!

Yes, I did what you said - using F10, I entered the BIOS. I did not see light stripes or blocks. But being in BIOS, there are no windows on the screen that would only partially cover the screen.
So the situation is really incomprehensible.

BR,

Oleksandr

P.S. I will find external TV or monitor and inform you.

@AlexCherny,

As Bios is outside of Windows and just in case if the issue appeared in the Bios then this could be a possible hardware failure.

If the issue does not appear in the Bios then this could be software or driver related.

Alternatively the best option would be to connect this laptop to an external monitor or TV and check.

Please take your time and get back to me with the results,
I'll be awaiting your response and would be glad to help.

cheers 🙂

Hi!

I finally took photos of the laptop screen and the screen of the monitor that is connected to the laptop.
There are no bars on the monitor screen.IMG_20190810_212756.jpgIMG_20190810_212806.jpg

In this scenario, I would suggest here is to uninstall the display drivers on your PC from device manager.

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.

Check the box that states delete the software for this device.

Now restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP Support Assistant

Download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Keep me posted!

Cheers 🙂

Hi!

I have made this

"Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and..." - but the is no "uninstall drivers", but there is "update driver/disable device/uninstall device". What need i choose?
