Hi,

I have this annoying issue with display. I can see slightly darker and lighter vertical lines on some solid colors. Those are not dead pixels.

To prove I'm not insane, I drew a picture with lines of 1 pixel in width, that seem to compensate those, so color looks consistent.

The difference is ≈28 (of 256)  in green color (RGB).

To be clear, on my display, picture with solid color will show lines, and picture with lines will show solid colors.

Can this be fixed?

(On normal display, top and bottom halfs show lines. On my display, one half show solid color, other aggrevated lines )

Photo of my screen.

Three parts:

Left. Line pattern compensates lines on screen.

Center. Solid color. Lines visible on screen. There shouldn't be any lines, it is solid color.

Right. Same line pattern as left but with 1 px shift. Makes lines worse.

@tarasp,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Have you tried checking with an external monitor does the issue persist?

Does the issue persist on the BIOS page?

If the issue persists on the BIOS page it is a hardware issue with the display.

If the issue does not persist on the BIOS page try updating the graphics, chipset and BIOS on the PC to the latest version.

Uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and install the latest version of BIOS,chipset and graphics drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.
