HP ENVY x360 13-ay0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a MPP 2.0 Tilt pen (silver). It advertises a 30 day batterylife *.

The * specifies that the batterylife may not be that long because of age (battery degradation) or hight use.

So I expected to get about one week out of it (I’m a university student an use the pen for ca 4h a day).

I get about one day off batterylife, on "heavy" days not even a full day.

I wouldn’t have a problem if it was like 2-3 days but now I have to charge it every day which is a bit (too) often.

Do I have a problem on my hand or is the advertised batterylife just way of?

What is the batterylife in min of usage?

Thanks for any help or comments

You say you are using a  screen protector - when you continue to have trouble with this or another pen, consider checking.

And will it do so with non HP pens (I've read that the MPP tilt doesn't work)"

HP doesn't provide us with information of any kind for non-HP pens.

I usually don't comment on what people have read - it is not generally useful in context.

The following are marked as compatible for your model (and series):

Accessories

1MR94AA

HP Pen

Accessories

3J122AA

HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen

Accessories

3J123AA

HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen

HP Pen Control Application

I think you should do what you think is best for your situation.

There is no solution to "feels cheap" and there is no useful solution to the way the pen is used.

Advertised "life" is never "real life".  If it were, we'd have to be disappointed up front and not after believing otherwise.

Possible Solutions to "Pen has to be recharged too often":

If you can find some, you can try some different rechargeable batteries - not all batteries are equal.

Do you want to return the pen?  If you are having difficulty doing that, we can ask for help.

Do you want to have a discussion about the pen and that it doesn't work like you expect?  We can ask for that to happen - talking about it may not change anything about the pen, but you can find out if there are options you have not considered.

Bottom line, it might not even matter what is advertised, it only  matters whether you can tolerate the pen.

Hi Dragon

In the last few days i used the a bit more and did additional research.

The actual b-life is to low (for me) compared tho the 30 day (like a 60th) and  thr time it takes to charge.

If the pen would have a super cap (charge in like 3 seconds) i wouldn't care even if the b-life was an hour.

In addtion to that can i notice a low battery even befor the pen starts blinking because the traking gets worse (gaps in drawn lines). I use Drawboard pdf, this programm doesn't have smoothing so it is even more noticeble.

I know that all of the above could be a result of a bad battery (or some thing in that ballpark).

But the things that drives me up the walls

IT FEELS CHEAP!!

I don't me that it's made out of plastic (can feel great if done right). It rattels when I flick it and the keys feel flimsy at best.

USE THA FORCE

If a bearly thouch the display with my pen it doesn't draw at all (works with a surface pen) and if I press reasonably hard the pen has traking problems (like with low battery).

A thing a didn't mentioned before is that i use a screen protector but i don't think this should have a big impacht on anythin.

The actual writing experience is no dout amazing with the hard tip on my matt screenprotecter. So I will have to find some thing better before I return the pen (won't need any help with that).

I think i will repalce my MPP 2.0 Tilt pen with some thing like:

Raphael 520

Bamboo Ink Plus

yes i konw that there a other pens form HP but non with two buttons (in the front) and rechargebel battery

One thing that i could find a answer too:

Dose my enyx x360 13 ay0509nz have till support?

And will it do so with non HP pens (i'v read that the MPP tilt doen't work)

regards

Chose

PS sorry for the late answer
