HP Recommended

I got this envy 360 laptop and mpp tilt 2.0 pen with it.  The pen battery indicator shows solid white light, which means it is fully charged. However, the pen works only when it is plugged to the charger.  The touch screen is working fine, it is the pen which does not work if it is not connected to the charger.  Any suggestions what might have gone wrong?
