Can anyone advise if they have had a similar problem with a defective laptop screen.
I had left the laptop docked on my office desk in the open position over night ( in use less than 6 months).
The damage is definitely not user incurred, I have explained the circumstances that the laptop had not been moved, the screen untouched, the external HMI, keyboard and mouse used external to the laptop.
The laptop had not moved hence no potential user liability, the screen had not been touched or moved or keyboard used (which as a laptop is expected use). This fault developed overnight, admittedly during unusually warm weather although the room was not subject to extreme temperature.
There is no external physical damage anywhere on the laptop, the laptop had not moved hence no potential for any external mechanical damage.
I was willing to subject the laptop to independent 3rd party verification as I am confident inspection would identify this as a manufacturing defect and not user induced damage.
However, HP are adamant this is user incurred, it is almost impossible to contact a human, customer service is extremely poor.
