Since a recent windows update I Receive the message 'Video Output Error, Change  the Pro Camera settings to No Rotation. If that doesn't work you may have to update your video \driver.

I have done both of these but still receive the 'Video Output Error' message.

Win 11 Pro Ver.25H2

Grateful for any help with this .

Hi @Roly481

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must feel to keep seeing that “Video Output Error” message even after carefully setting the Pro Camera to No Rotation and updating the video driver.

Thank you for already taking those steps—your effort makes the troubleshooting smoother. Let’s walk through a few more detailed checks together to help clear this up:

Step 1: Confirm Display Settings

  1. Right‑click on the desktop and choose Display settings.
  2. Scroll down and check Display orientation. Ensure it is set to Landscape.
  3. If multiple monitors are connected, confirm each one is set correctly.

Step 2: Reinstall Graphics Driver

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right‑click your graphics device and choose Uninstall device.
  4. Restart the computer—Windows will reinstall a basic driver automatically.
  5. After restart, install the latest driver directly from HP’s support page for your model:
    HP Software and Driver Downloads

Step 3: Run HP Diagnose & Fix

HP provides a tool that automatically checks for driver and hardware conflicts.

  1. Download and install HP Support Assistant if not already installed:
  2. Open it, go to Troubleshooting, and run Diagnose & Fix.
  3. Follow the guided steps—it will repair or suggest adjustments.

Step 4: Check Camera App Permissions

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
  2. Ensure the Pro Camera app has permission to access the camera.
  3. Test again after adjusting.

Step 5: Reset Camera App

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  2. Locate the Pro Camera app.
  3. Select Advanced options > Reset.
  4. Restart the system and test.

Step 6: Windows Updates

Sometimes a cumulative update may not fully apply.

  1. Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates and install any pending patches.
  3. Restart and retest.

By following these steps, we’re covering both the driver layer and the app configuration to ensure smooth video output. The links above are official HP resources and will guide you through safe downloads and diagnostics.
