HP Notebook - 15s-du1034tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Touchpad is not working. All drivers are up to date. I can see I2C HID devise error. Microsoft Input Configuration Device is also missing from Device Manager.  Got my Touchpad hardware checked it is working fine.

Please update or reinstall driver for your machine

  • Open Device Manager,
  • Locate and double-click on the Human Interface Devices option.
  • Right-click on the I2C HID Device and select Update driver from the context menu.
  • Select the Search automatically for drivers option, as Windows will find the best drivers on your system.
  • Reboot machine

Hi BH,

Thanks for taking time to reply on my query.

I did try to update the I2C HID drivers but failed to install them. At times the message says that the latest drivers are already installed on this device, but Touchpad doesn't work.  Other times, it says Windows has failed to add and install some of the specified drivers.

What i can see is that the real problem is with Microsoft Input Configuration Device which is missing under the Human Interface Devices head in Device Manager.

Suggest me ways to get the Microsoft Input Configuration Device under HID.

Thanks, in anticipation
