Microsoft Windows 11

Have used an extra monitor (Asus MX34V) as my extended desktop (HP Elitebook, 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz) for a long period connected via HDMI cable (High Speed) - but suddenly the ASUS screen turns totally black when Resolution is set to 3440x1440. The only Refresh rate available is 100 Hz. Using a Mac with the same connection - it works fine - and Refresh rate can be selected to various values.

Have tried to update BIOS and lots of other stuff from an expert in the IT-department - but without success. Tested with a newer Samsung screen - (using USB-C) and that worked fine also with 100 Hz.

So I am very confused - since the screen itself looks like working - and the laptop as well. Any suggestions on how I can make the resolution work at maximum - again?
