Hello,
I have just bought a Pavilion laptop 14-ba055sa and I really like it but I feel the images on the screen are below average.
The colours are slightly washed out and the overall image quality is poor.
Also by looking to the monitor from an angle is worst.
The overall screen quality is not too bad but I feel that it is not good at all for a branded mid-ranged laptop of 2017.
It may suggests low end electronics of a few years ago.
I compared it to another laptop of half the cost and general specs and it is worst.
I read some reviews on the internet and some comments said "good screen".
What screen and image quality shall I expect from this laptop? I feel like I may have slightly faulty screen. Any thought?
Regards
George

It's a 1366 x 768 touchscreen. The resolution is not good and a touchscreen will always make the image appear a tiny bit hazy because it has to go through a thicker piece of glass. Still it is possible you got a bad panel even for one with those limitations. But it is very hard to show on a Forum. Do you have a return privilege at the retailer where you bought it?

Thanks very much for your reply.
Yes, I did notice that the max resolution is 1366 x 768.
I am comparing it with another laptop of almost half the price and I would expect a processor with a graphics section of lower spec. I do not know the screen of this laptop but I would think is of same or lower spec too. The aother laptop is
x360 Convert 11-k152sa.
I just feel that the new and higher spec laptop should have a better screen image from the lower spec. Am I wrong?
Thanks again

1366 x 768 will look better on 11 inches than 14 because with 14 the same number of pixels are spread over a broader area. In fact with an 11 inch screen you would not want a much bigger resolution or everything would be tiny.
Most laptops have at least one feature where the seller has compromised to keep the price down. It can be the wireless card, the processor or in this case the screen. HP does not make screens. 1366 x 768 touchscreens are just not going to provide the best viewing experience regadless of whether it is on a Lenovo, Asus or HP.
