On startup, monitor does not come on. After 1 - 2 min. the Notebook fan turns on. Don't know how to get the monitor operational.

The Notebook is  connected to a power supply. The transformer is delivering power (checked w/voltmeter). The Power Light shows the computer is on. The Power Supply input light (where the power cable connects to the notebook) is amber - indicating (I think) that there is power.

Increasing screen brightness (F2) has no effect. Turning KYBD backlight on (F3) has no effect, which may mean that the CPU is not functioning.

The monitor worked yesterday, does not work today. Any idea what's wrong (and how to get the monitor on)?

Please check if you are able to get to BIOS

Shut down the Notebook and upon restarting keep tapping on F10 till you see System Configuration Menu ( BIOS )

If you are unable to get to BIOS please contact HP Support in your Region for Service Options

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
