HP M27f FHD Monitor

So everything was working fine.  I moved into a new house down the road and now I can't seem to get my second monitor working.  Maybe I have the plugs wrong?  But there's only power and HDMI.  It turns on just fine but goes black after that.  Then shows the message about input signal not found.  I've looked at the answer others had on these boards but it didn't help.  Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hi @SoldierBoy1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering the "Input Signal Not Found" message on your HP M27f FHD Monitor, it typically indicates that the monitor isn't receiving a proper video signal from the connected source. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

  • Check Cable Connections: Ensure that the video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) is securely connected to both the monitor and the video output port on your computer or device.
  • Source Selection: Use the monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display) menu to select the correct input source. The "Input Signal Not Found" message can appear if the monitor is set to the wrong input source. Cycle through the available input options (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort) to find the one that corresponds to your connected device.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of both the monitor and the connected device (computer, laptop, etc.) can resolve communication issues and refresh the video signal.
  • Test with Another Cable: If possible, try using a different video cable to rule out cable-related problems.
  • Test with Another Device: Connect the monitor to a different device (such as a laptop or gaming console) to see if the issue is specific to one device.
  • Check Device Output: Make sure the device you're connecting to the monitor is actually outputting a video signal. You can do this by connecting the device to a different monitor or TV to confirm.
  • Check Resolution and Refresh Rate: Ensure that the device's video output settings (resolution and refresh rate) are compatible with the monitor. If the settings are too high or unsupported, the monitor might not display any signal.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: If you're using a computer, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes lead to compatibility issues.
  • Monitor Firmware Update: Check if there are any available firmware updates for your HP M27f FHD Monitor. These updates can sometimes address compatibility and performance issues.
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you might consider performing a factory reset on the monitor. Refer to the monitor's manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
