(I couldnt find an appropriate board for this question, so i put a random one) Hi. My brother bought a monitor for his pc but his pc has viruses, so he decided to give it to me. He lost the reciept. I am wondering if his viruses can come and infect my pc. He used a VGA Cable, but i am using a HDMI cable. Thanks. i know this question isnt about HP, but i had nowhere else to post this.

Hi @Cephachrome

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.

Pure and simple, the answer is NO, the monitor cannot infect your PC. The monitor (display) is not infected and monitors don't spread viruses/threats. Your PC is safe by that.

Viruses can spread via email/ Internet apps / USB or other removable media devices - if you share any of these. Not by monitors

If you want, I can provide tips and suggestions how to clean your brother's computer. Let me know.
