Hello, i have had my laptop for less than a year and out of the blue about a week ago I’ve begun to see my mouse pointer flicker rapidly (picture turning on and off lights however with a mouse pointer). This happens out of nowhere and it is accompanied by a little transparent box at the left corner of the screen where the windows icon is in the task bar. If I continue to use the laptop with it flickering (which is annoying) after awhile the pointer just stops working in cohesion with my trackpad.
It doesn’t go away until i restart my laptop, it just magically disappears. Then after awhile it magically reappears.
Please help me. Thank you

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I would like to inform you that this issue can occurs when there is a virus or a malware on your computer.
I recommend you run a full scan on your computer and make sure there are no virus or malware. For malware, you can also use malware bite and run that on your computer.
If the issue persists, then uninstall the touchpad driver from device manager and then download and install it from the below link.
Here is how it is done.
- Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
- Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
- On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.
NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you are able to duplicate the issue in BIOS as well then it might be a display issue.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.
