When the os turns on the mouse behaves erratic. Just moving the mouse over an icon, weather on the main screen, in the task bar, or in explorer it invokes that app or the app associated with that file. I can't do anything with the computer to try to fix it because if I move the mouse even close to an icon it runs that app.
I have tried to run the computer in safe mode but that didn't stop the mouse from behaving erratic. I tried to run a reset on the OS without losing any data (there is no data on the computer) and that didn't stop the mouse behavior.
I'm not sure what to do next. I'm going to try to boot from a USB drive and get to a window with a prompt but I'm not sure if that will work. I've down loaded all the firmware updates but can't run them if the mouse won't allow it.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I've looked online and the answers pretty much say to load a new driver or something of that nature but I can't because of the erratic behavior of the mouse. If someone can help that would be nice before I have to get HP support which I know may not be able to assist.
