HP Pavillion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Whenever i hold down the left, right or middle mouse button to say, select text and i let go of the mouse button it will continue to carry on to do the thing it was already doing. Then i would have to click again to make it stop. I have used different mice on this computer and then used them on another so i know it isn't to do with the mouse. Also, sometimes my " and @ will randomly swap and i don't know how to change it back.

Hi,

For the mouse issue, check the following.

Open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.  From the new layout, select Mouse, then select the Buttons tab - make sure that the 'ClickLock' box isn't checked - if it is, click the box to clear the checkmark and Apply the change.

For the second issue, it sounds like your switching between input methods ( ie switching between US and UK keyboard layouts ) - you can manually switch between inputs methods by holding down the Ctrl and pressing the Shift key.

You can also disable this shortcut if you wish, as follows.

Open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.  From the new layout, select Language and then click on Advanced settings in the left hand pane.

Under the sub-heading 'Switching input methods', click on Change language bar hot keys.

Highlight the top entry 'Between input languages' and then click the Change Key Sequence button.

Under the heading 'Switch Keyboard Layout', select Not Assigned - click Ok and then click Apply and OK in the previous window.

Regards,
