A few days ago my multi-finger gestures, two finger scrolling, pinch to zoom, etc. all stopped working on my Windows 10 A110DX. When I went into the settings all of the multi-finger options are still checked, just none of the functions work. I was in the middle of using the computer when the functionos stopped working, so it wasn't after an upgrade/update, and not during a restart.
I turned on touchpad side scrolling, and that started working immediately after I hit Apply, so at least something works. I've toggled the multi-finger options off and on again with no change.
My drivers are up to date, and have not changed recently. I tried rolling back the driver, uninstalling the device, and reinstalling the new driver. Still it won't function properly. This all coincided to when the HP support site was broken, and I've just now been able to try redownloading the drivers. I'm game for any ideas on how to fix this since it's one of those features you get used to really quickly, and it's annoying when it no longer works.

Thank you for stopping by the HP support forums and a good day to you. I have reviewed the post and it will be a privilege to assist you here. I see that you have posted for the first time and let's make your visit a pleasurable one. Remarkable technical expertise coupled with an immaculate temperament are qualities that are admirable, Kudos to you for that?
- Could it have occurred because of a possible WIndows update?
- DId you run component tests on the touchpad and check if it works correctly?
Let's try these steps now:
- Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand Mice and other pointing devices>then select the touchpad drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Synaptics touch drivers. Then check the box delete the software for this device.
- Then restart the computer and update the bios, chipset and touchpad drivers from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-13-a100-x360-convertible-pc/7234922/mod... and follow the on-screen instructions.
Now check if the issue gets resolved. If it persists, then follow the relevant directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-13-a100-x360-convertible-pc/7234922/model/7685007/d... (HP Notebook PCs - Using the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 10)
- This should fix the issue. If it continues, then run HP diagnostics on the touchpad from this link:https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03467259 (HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures) and run the component tests on the touchpad.
- If it fails, make a note of the failure code.
- The computer needs to be serviced and the touchpad replaced if it fails. I am being honest about it here by keeping your best interest in mind without beating around the bush.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Well, I'm not entirely sure what happened, but it's working now.
For the record
-component test was unremarkable (prior to the test the touchpad, both buttons, and the side scroll functioned, just not mulitfinger gestures, so no surprises there)
-I had attempted updating the touchpad driver, deleting/reinstalling it, and rolling it back (followed by reinstalling it) with no change prior to posting.
-no updates had occurred just prior to the issue arising, and last windows update/restart was about five days prior. Issue started during the middle of a session.
For the solution I followed David's suggestion and uninstalled/deleted the touchpad software. The computer did an automatic shutdown afterwards. When it booted up I went to reinstall the touchpad driver, and update the bios, and chipset drivers as he directed, but ........... I found the touchpad driver was still showing in the Device Manager, and the multi-finger gestures were working again. This despite having deleted the software for the device.
Thanks for your help.

Well, it seems my problems weren’t so easily dismissed. I’m still experiencing frequent instances of:
-multitouch spontaneously stops working while using the computer
-touchpad spontaneously turning off completely during use (with pop up in taskbar of the disables touchpad icon)
-when waking from sleep any or all of the keyboard, trackpad, multitouch gestures not working.
In the instances of the multi gestures turning off it’s pretty much fixed it to delete the driver like I did originally..... though when it reboots the driver is still installed and things seem to work. For awhile.
At this point it’s just driving me crazy. Everything was working fine until about three weeks ago, now it’s constantly having issues with my input devices/features.
