I am trying to connect two screens to my HP laptop I have a HDMI 2.0 to USB-C connecter that I plug into the HDMI and USB port on my laptop i connected a USB extender to that and If I plug in the two HDMI cords to the extender both screens will connect to my laptop.
The issue is my laptop is showing as screen 1 and both desktops are showing as screen 2 I cannot get my second monitor to connect as screen 3, it just mirrors screen 2?

That is a joke because you get SAME contents on BOTH screens. What is your PC 15s-fq2000 (2D118AV) machine ? It could be one of the following over 180 machines

For example https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c07209230
Your machine should have same ports. It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
Other option (USB-A dock) : https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05357751

I'm not understanding how both screens are being detected when plugged into the extender through the HDMI dock but as screen #2 at the same time and cant be # 2 and #3?
I have tried a USB-A to HDMI that is a certified display and it doesn't detect a screen when plugged in
