Product: HP 17-by2000 Laptop PC series (7EF33AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP 17-cp0035cl that has one HDMI output and one SuperSpeed USB Type-C port. I'm told that the USB C port is for data only. Does anyone know of a way to add another separate external display? I'm using the HDMI for one and I need another.

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter
