Ever since I got this computer, I have been having issues with the trackpad and pen continuously. For the first year, I rarely used the pen and trackpad as the laptop was always at home. Once I was in college, I noticed the following issues:

1. While scrolling through any non-UWP app, the trackpad would randomly decalibrate its scrolling speed and would scroll extremely slowly, and I would have to click and drag the sidebar or use a mouse. This is very frustrating and would require me to restart the laptop to fix it, and this happens pretty much monthly.

2. While using the pen, palm rejection would stop working at times. I even noticed that sometimes when the laptop is plugged in, the pen would not detect palm rejection, but when it was unplugged, it would start working again. But after a while, it would stop working even while unplugged and this would again require me to restart the computer. This also happens around once a month.

3. And finally, the Boot Device not Found error. This laptop was purchased in December 2017, and a year later in December 2018, I got a boot device not found error multiple times and the only way to fix it was to send it back to HP. They replaced the SSD and now again, a year later in December 2019, I am getting the same error. HP might fix this but I'm sure it will return next year when my extended warranty will be expired and I will be out of luck.

4. Other minor issues like the coil whine noise and the creaking of the body also deteriorate the experience.

Overall, this laptop does not meet basic needs at times (like expecting the trackpad and pen to function properly). Moreover, when I depend on this laptop especially during finals in December, is when the SSD gets messed up. HP customer support told me to do all sorts of updates that did not fix it, after which they told me that they will fix it once I send it in for repair, but how can I trust them this time when the same exact issue reappears a year later? I would be happy if they replaced the laptop but they won't do that either, so I can't really recommend HP to anyone ever.
