So I brought my wife a brand new ENVY 13 (ba-1000) about a week and a half ago. And she was quite happy at first. However this evening when she's gone to use the machine it now appears the screen has started separating from the housing starting from the camera area and has started to extend to the corners.
The whole panel now appears to be loosely tacked into the housing. I gently pressed around the perimeter of the screen to see if it was a double sided adhesive that had simply failed to grab, but it doesn't seem to help, and I'm not willing to push any harder lest I crack the touchscreen. Since the machine is less than 14 days old, it seems we may be looking at a DOA?

Hi @Teragon,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the screen of your HP ENVY 13 is separating from the top housing, it is likely a hardware issue that may require some troubleshooting or repairs. Here are a few steps you can take to address the problem.
- Check for any visible damage: Inspect the screen and the housing carefully for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks or dents. If you notice any, it is advisable to contact HP customer support or take your laptop to an authorized service center for professional assistance.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, software glitches can cause unusual behavior. Try restarting your laptop to see if it resolves the issue. This simple step can fix temporary software-related problems.
- Update your display drivers: Outdated or incompatible display drivers can sometimes cause display issues. Visit the HP support website or use the HP Support Assistant software to check for and install the latest drivers for your laptop model.
- Calibrate the screen: It is possible that the screen separation is due to a calibration issue. Go to your laptop's display settings and check if there are any options for screen alignment or calibration. Follow the instructions provided to align the screen properly.
- Gently press the screen back into place: If the separation is minor and there is no visible damage, you can try applying gentle pressure to the screen to push it back into place. Be careful not to use excessive force as it may cause further damage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
