My HP EliteBook 835 G8 has stopped working with an Epson projector via an AVG cord to usb adapter.  I used the projector with another laptop with the same cords, adapters, etc. and it works fine.  I tried different ports on the HP laptop I am certain are good with no results.  Updated projector and laptop software, drivers, etc.  Not sure what to try next.

I don't know your Epson projector and its cable but I know for sure  an AVG cord to usb adapter is NOT compatible with your new machine.

 

On new machine you can use USB-C port to connect to a projector with USB-C to DO (or may be HDMI) adapter.
