Pavilion 15 CS3006NA
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi I have a HP Pavilion 15 CS3006NA and have just bought a Dell monitor P2419HC . I want to connect via the usb type C port, but my laptop doesn't recognise the Monitor at all. I have downloaded the latest monitor firmware and the monitor now flashes red, green, blue at me, but I cannot work out how to connect the laptop. Do you have any advice?thanks

The specs of your machine is

            https://www8.hp.com/ie/en/laptops/product-details/product-specifications/33540469

It has

  • 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate);
  • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only);
  • 1 AC smart pin;
  • 1 HDMI 1.4b;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo;
  • 1 RJ-45

And the specs of your Dell monitor is

   https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-24-usb-c-monitor-p2419hc/apd/210-aqis/monitors-monitor-accessor...

It has

   USB-C, HDMI and Display Port (DP).

You have to use HDMI ports on both to connect. The USB-C on your machine does NOT support video out to USB-C monitor directly therefore it won't work.

Regards.
