i installed the HP USB-C dock G5, and my mouse keyboard et work fine. However the external monitors do not display and are not detected by the laptop. when i use a HDMI cable from the HDMI port on laptop to an external monitor the system works great. how can i correctly connect the dock to laptop for 2 external monitors to function?

Your machine should be one of the following machines:

Its USB-C port is NOT compatible with the USB-C G5 dock.
