HP Spectre 360
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My laptop is not able to detect a secondary monitor. Used to be able to do it, But now it happens intermittently.
I have tried two different monitors with two connectors — still the same issue.

I have tried duplicating display, extended display and second screen only. All does not work at all
Tried going to the "detect" display. Does not work at all.

@alyyt,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the display on the monitor when connected to the laptop.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices, such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
  5. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
  6. Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
  7. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
  8. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
  9. On the Options screen, select Continue and continue to Windows 10.
  10. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, then press the Enter key.
  11. Reconnect each of the peripheral devices.

If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.
