Hi @RubyJacob,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with a black screen on your HP Envy 360 laptop camera can be frustrating. Here are several troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:
Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Ensure that camera access is turned on for the device.
- Make sure the app you are trying to use has permission to access the camera.
Update Camera Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
- Expand Imaging devices or Cameras.
- Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Roll Back Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Properties.
- Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver if available.
Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Run the Hardware Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters and find Camera or Hardware and Devices.
- Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check Camera App Settings:
- Open the Camera app from the Start menu.
- Check if there are any settings within the app that might be causing the issue.
Disable Other Apps Using the Camera:
- Ensure no other application is using the camera, as this might block access for the current app.
Reset the Camera App:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
- Find the Camera app, click on it, and select Advanced options.
- Click Reset.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, Esc, or Del during boot).
- Ensure the camera is enabled in the BIOS settings.
