Hi @Rae3111, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That sounds like a catch-22!
Let's try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the charger and remove any external peripherals (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
- If the battery is removable, take it out.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reinsert the battery (if applicable) and connect the charger.
- Press the power button again and see if it turns on.
Check the Power Adapter & Charging Port
- Ensure the charger is properly connected and check if the charging LED light is on.
- Try using a different power outlet or charger if available.
- Inspect the charging port for dust or damage.
Perform a BIOS Reset (Win + B Method)
- Power off the laptop completely.
- Press and hold the Win + B keys, then press the power button for about 3-5 seconds.
- Release all keys and wait to see if the screen lights up.
Test With an External Display
- If you hear fans spinning but no display, connect an external monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort and check if you get an output.
Identify Any Blink Codes or Beeping Sounds
- If the power button blinks in a sequence or there are beeping sounds, they indicate specific hardware failures.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
