Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using a HP Spectre laptop and my cursor is no longer visable on the screen and cannot be moved around on the keypad.

It sounds frustrating to lose your cursor functionality, but let's get it back! Here are some troubleshooting steps to try on your HP Spectre laptop:

 

Enable the Touchpad

  • Press Fn + F7 (or the touchpad toggle key, depending on your model).
  • If this doesn’t work, go to SettingsDevicesTouchpad and ensure it’s enabled.

 

Restart Your Laptop

  • A simple reboot can sometimes resolve touchpad issues.

 

Check Device Manager for Touchpad Issues

  • Press Win + X, select Device Manager, and expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  • If the touchpad driver has a warning symbol, right-click and select Update driver.

 

Reinstall the Touchpad Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click the touchpad driver and select Uninstall.
  • Restart your laptop—Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

 

Try an External Mouse

  • If an external mouse works, the issue may be with the touchpad hardware or settings.
