Hi @Trishawn100m,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are experiencing issues with the cursor or touchpad on your HP Chromebook. There are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Restart the Chromebook: Sometimes, simply restarting the device can fix temporary glitches.

Check for Updates: Ensure that your Chromebook is running the latest version of Chrome OS. You can check for updates by going to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.

Test in Guest Mode: Sign out of your account and log in as a guest. If the touchpad works in guest mode, it might be an issue with your account settings.

Hardware Check: Make sure the touchpad isn't physically damaged or dirty. Clean the touchpad with a soft, dry cloth to remove any debris.

Check Settings: Go to Settings > Device > Touchpad and mouse and make sure everything is configured correctly. You can also try toggling the settings for touchpad speed and other options to see if it affects the issue.

Keyboard Shortcut to Enable/Disable Touchpad: On some models, pressing Alt + Search + P can enable or disable the touchpad. Ensure that it's enabled.

Powerwash: As a last resort, you can reset your Chromebook to factory settings through Powerwash. This will erase all data on the device, so be sure to back up any important files. Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings > Powerwash.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
