We have tried "everything" that I could find in forums that claimed a 'fix'. Tried toggling on or off all settings in System/Tablet Mode and modifying the 'When I sign in' options.
Multiple restarts and have ensured that Windows10 is up to date, yet the problem has not yet been resolved for us.
My daughter opened a chat session with Microsoft, and he got her to restart the laptop via command prompt, so of course, he disappeared after the restart!
Any help out there from others with knowledge of the problem would be appreciated.

You are a genius, EddyK! Updating the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver (Windows 10 v1607) was the correct way to get this laptop out of its tablet mode! As soon as I applied the update, the screen flipped over to Desktop mode before I had even restarted! It is now fixed 100% Asian have restarted the machine several times out of sheer suspicion that it would flip back and get stick again!
Thank you for your clear, concise help.
