Hi @Raquel2025,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your HP Envy x360 pen suddenly stops working, especially when you rely on it for writing, drawing, or navigation. Let’s go through the most effective steps to get it working again.

Troubleshooting Steps for HP Envy x360 Pen Not Working

1. Check Pen Power

  • If your pen uses a battery (like AAAA or button cells), replace it.
  • For rechargeable pens:
    • Amber light = charging
    • Off = fully charged
    • If the LED doesn’t light up, try a different charger or port.

2. Verify Touchscreen Functionality

  • Use your finger to check if the touchscreen responds.
  • If touch doesn’t work, the issue may be with the screen, not the pen.

3. Re-Pair the Pen (Bluetooth Models)

  • Enable Bluetooth on your laptop.
  • Press and hold the pen’s top button for a few seconds to enter pairing mode.
  • Select the pen from the Bluetooth device list and pair it.

4. Update Drivers and Firmware

  • Open Device Manager → Expand Human Interface Devices.
  • Right-click on the pen/touchscreen drivers → Uninstall device → Restart.
  • Download the latest drivers and BIOS from Official HP® Support.

5. Calibrate Pen Settings

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
  • Toggle: Ignore touch input when I’m using my pen.
  • Select Calibrate under Screen settings.

6. Reset the Pen

  • Press and hold both buttons on the pen for about 10 seconds to reset it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
