I can't figure out which setting is causing my issue, but I can;t get the display to stay at 100% when I need it that way. It resets to a much dimmer setting. It may be that it is set for energy saving or something. but I have looked and can't figure it out. Any suggestions on where to look?

Hi @DHOU812,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with the display brightness on your Laptop.
It sounds like your HP Omen might have some power-saving settings affecting the display brightness. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
Power Options:
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Select your current plan and click on Change plan settings.
- Click on Change advanced power settings.
- Look for Display and ensure that the brightness settings for both On battery and Plugged in are set to 100%.
HP Omen Command Center:
- Open the HP Omen Command Center app.
- Check for any performance or power-saving modes that might affect the display. Set it to a performance mode if available.
Display Settings:
- Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
- Ensure the brightness slider is set to 100%.
- Check for any options related to HDR or adaptive brightness, which may adjust brightness automatically.
Graphics Control Panel:
- If you have an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, open their respective control panels (NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software).
- Look for settings related to power management and adjust them to prioritize performance over power saving.
Update Drivers:
Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.
Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.
Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.
Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
Install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps.
go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.
Adaptive Brightness:
- In the advanced power settings (as mentioned in step 1), look for Enable adaptive brightness and turn it off for both on battery and plugged in.
After adjusting these settings, restart your laptop and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
