I bought my Streaming Notebook two weeks ago. I have tried everything I could currently find on the HP forums to fix my issue. My tablet mode turns on and off, but it doesnt respond to any touch at all. Every update is installed, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drive that supports it. I noticed that on another HP forum, that this has been a reoccuring issure on this laptop since 2012. it is now 2018. Is there really no fix, still? If there is, I would really like to know how I could get it fixed wihtout having to take it in. Thank you!

I don't think the screen could be replaced with a Touchscreen- and if it could be it would not be economically sensible. Probably would cost twice what you would pay for a Stream with touchscreen included. Many places offer a 30 day return. It might be possible to return it to exchange for one with touchscreen.

Which specific model of Stream do you have?
Easiest way to get that info- minimize all open windows so you can see desktop screen. Next hold the fn key and press esc key. It should show Product Name and Product Number.

If that doesn't work see other ways to get Product Name/Product Number here:

The Specs page does not list a Touchscreen display:

Okay so why would it even have a tablet mode if it doesnt have a touch screen? Just for the look of a tablet? and thank you.

HP Recommended

Actually tablet mode is part of Windows 10 and has nothing to do with hardware. It is available if you do have hardware to use it.

It is similar to the issue with Active Stylus/Pens on the market. A lot of people assume if they have a touchscreen they can use these devices. Not without the special digitizer builtin the screen.

I'm not ech savvy, although I'd love to be. How would I go about this so that I may have the hardware for it?

Thank you so much for your help. I probably wont do that because I already love this computer so much. So I can deal with it not being touch screen. At least you helped me though. I appreciate it!

You're very welcome. Happy to help. For what it is worth- I have a touchscreen and rarely use it. I hate fingerprints on my screen. :generic:
