Hi @P_m88-38,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are experiencing video playback issues on YouTube with your HP laptop, there could be several reasons for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.
- Check your internet connection: A weak or unstable internet connection can cause videos to play intermittently. Make sure you have a stable and fast internet connection. Try resetting your modem and router or connecting to a different Wi-Fi network.
- Update your web browser: An outdated browser can sometimes cause playback issues. Ensure you are using the latest version of your preferred web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge).
- Clear browser cache and cookies: Accumulated cache and cookies can affect how websites, including YouTube, perform. Clear your browser's cache and cookies and try playing videos again.
- Disable browser extensions: Some browser extensions can interfere with video playback. Temporarily disable any extensions, particularly ones related to ad-blocking or video downloading, and check if the issue persists.
- Try a different web browser: If the problem persists, try using a different web browser to see if the issue is specific to your current browser.
- Update your graphics drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers may impact video playback performance. Visit the HP website or the website of the graphics card manufacturer to download and install the latest drivers for your laptop.
- Adjust video quality settings on YouTube: Lower the video quality on YouTube to see if it improves the playback experience. Click on the gear icon on the YouTube video player and select a lower resolution.
- Check for background processes: Ensure there are no other applications or processes consuming significant resources while you play videos. Close unnecessary applications to free up system resources.
- Scan for malware and viruses: Malware or viruses can cause various issues on your computer, including video playback problems. Run a full system scan using your preferred antivirus software.
- Test on another platform: If the issue persists, try playing YouTube videos on a different device or another computer to determine if the problem is specific to your HP laptop or if it's a broader YouTube issue.
- Update the operating system: Make sure your Windows or macOS is up to date with the latest updates and patches.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
