I tried to use Zoom on my laptop for the first time and my web cam wouldn't work. The IT tech from the company I was communicating with gave me some possible solutions, but nothing worked. I searched my laptop and it said I needed to disable something, but that something (now I can't recall the name) was not there.

@joyfullyretired. Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your webcam is not working on your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c3000 (767L5AV) while using Zoom, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
Check Privacy Settings
Windows 11 has privacy settings that may be blocking Zoom from accessing the camera.
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Ensure that Camera access is turned On.
- Scroll down to Let apps access your camera and make sure Zoom is allowed.
Check If Camera Is Disabled
- Press Win + X → Select Device Manager.
- Expand Imaging devices or Cameras.
- Right-click on your camera (e.g., HP TrueVision HD Camera) and Enable device if it's disabled.
Update or Reinstall the Camera Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click on the camera and choose Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.
- If updating doesn't help, try uninstalling the driver:
- Right-click the camera, choose Uninstall device, and restart your laptop.
Test the Camera in Other Apps
- Open the Camera app (search "Camera" in the Start menu). If it works here but not in Zoom, the issue is with Zoom settings.
- In Zoom, go to Settings → Video and select the correct camera.
Run the Windows Camera Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Camera troubleshooter.
Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings → Windows Update and install any pending updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
