HP Pavilion x360 15 Convertible PC 15-er1000 (4R5X0AV)

I've had to chat with tech support because my keyboard and mouse ere erratic. You could hit enter all day long and nothing would happen. Four times support said they fixed it (and didn't). On the 4-5 chat, I finally get someone who is working on the issue. It turns out it's a keyboard error and the system says "keyboard should be replaced". I get disconnected from the tech but get an email on how to get back to the person. I follow the instruction, get in and get a new tech rep who basically wants to start all over again. Maybe a recovery.

I explain the the other tech got keyboard errors, tells me to run another test, same result. NOPE, the tech doesn't discuss sending the laptop to a service center, he wants to know if the number key is depressed. At that point, I hung up. BTW, if you want to speak with anyone, just say you want to buy something. That gets a real person on the phone.

I sent a letter to the HP legal department. I believe there are laws about having to have an extended warranty and getting no service. We'll see.

Hi @vandee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Apologies.

Splendid analysis and remarkable patience were shown. It is immensely appreciated.

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have an option to schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
