I have had an external HP monitor hooked up to my HP Laptop for years. I decided to get a 2nd external monitor because work is just getting really busy and the 2nd monitor would help me be more productive. When I hooked up the new Philips monitor, the HP stopped working and only the Philips worked. I thought I had to update the drivers for my laptop to detect the third monitor but that didn't work. I decided since my HP is a larger screen, I would go back to using just the HP till I could figure out how to get the two of them working simultaneously but a las, now my HP monitor will not work at all. I uninstalled and re-installed the monitor drivers and no luck, still cannot see the HP Monitor. I hooked up a 2nd Philips monitor and that also is not detected. I am at a loss, If I can't have two monitors I would go back to using my larger HP Monitor but now I can't even get that working. When I plug that in, the laptop doesn't even detect it at all. Anyone that might be able to help, I would SOOO appreciate it.

OK - so after I typed my question, I realized someone else had the same issue. I was able to hook up my TWO Philips monitors. Not the original HP but the 2 Philips will do the trick for now. I needed to put the 1 HDMI cable in the port on the laptop while the other had to go in the adapter that I've been using. Not the best scenario but in the end, I got what I needed which is two monitors.
