Verify Your Operating System Version
Make sure you know the exact version of Windows you’re running (e.g., Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11). Sometimes drivers for older OS versions won’t install on newer ones or vice-versa.

Visit the Official HP Support Page
Go to the HP drivers page for your exact model: HP Notebook 15-bw519au. HP Support
Enter either your serial number or product number and select the correct OS from the dropdown menu.

Download the Touchpad/Clickpad Driver
On the HP support page, look under the “Mouse & Touchpad” or “Input-Device” category and download the touchpad driver listed for your OS. If you see multiple options (Synaptics, ELAN, Precision Touchpad), pick the one that matches what your Device Manager shows.

Uninstall the Current Touchpad Driver
In Device Manager, expand “Mice and other pointing devices”, find your touchpad, right-click and choose Uninstall device (check “Delete the driver software for this device” if available).
Then restart your laptop and install the driver you downloaded.

Install the Driver in Compatibility Mode (if needed)
