I am trying to set up dual monitors (two separate and not the built in screen). There is only one HDMI port on my laptop and I do have a USB-C port. I bought and HDMI splitter thinking it would help, but it just produces a duplicate display. I believe I need a compatible docking station to get things set up the way I want. I did try a docking station already, but it is clearly not compatible for video, so I am looking to get an answer without further trial and error. Can anyone provide advice as to what my options are? Thank you for any help!

PS The issue is not as simple as extending the display, detecting the display or checking for updated drivers. I have done all of this to no avail.
