OMEN by HP 17-cb0000nx

Hello, I need an OEM-compatible driver package with explicit support for UHD Graphics 630 on Windows 10 22H2.

I have an OMEN 17-cb0000nx and the Intel display driver is not working. Only the Nvidia 2070 is detected. I've tried manually installing the Intel UHD 630 driver version 31.0.101.2135. However, under the device properties it shows the message "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)".

ChatGPT has advised the likely cause: "Installed INF doesn’t actually match UHD 630 for your OS build (e.g. a CAB meant for 21H1 but you’re on 22H2). Windows shows the device but fails to start it.". It has advised that I need a 30.0.101.2111 driver, but I cannot find this driver available to download anywhere. If someone can advise me where to download a correct driver to get my Intel video chip working alongside my Nvidia 2070, that would be very much appreciated.

Hi:

On the PC's that come with switchable graphics, you can only use the Intel/Nvidia drivers on the support page or the switchable graphics won't work.

My recommendation would be to use the latest drivers for both GPU"s that HP has on the support page.

Thank you for the helpful reply. I have tried installing the Intel display driver from the page you linked, however I get the error "The driver is not supported on this OS version (10.0.19045)." This error led me to downloading the drivers directly from Intel, including trying a legacy version.

Is it possible that the Intel GPU is disabled on my laptop at a firmware level, with no possibility to enable it or GPU switching?

You're very welcome.

Are there two GPU"s listed under the display adapters device manager category in the device manager--even if one is listed as the Nvidia GPU and the other, a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter (which would be the Intel GPU in need of a driver)?

If not, then your notebook is one in the model series that only has the dedicated Nvidia graphics which means you get high performance graphics at all times and the notebook does not switch from the Intel GPU to the Nvidia one as higher graphics performance is needed for certain programs, such as video gaming.

I would prefer the latter although the battery probably drains faster when not plugged in.

When you have the Nvidia graphics only you should be able to use the latest graphics drivers from NVidia which are updated frequently.
