HP ENVY x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have the HP ENVY x360 and i am try to connect a second monitor (it's a relatively old mointor but still works) and my laptop is not recognizing the second monitor. the monitor has a VGA input so i am using a HDMI to VGA adapter. Does anyone know how to make my laptop recognize the display

I have tried unplugging and plugging the wires back in, restarting my laptop, going into intel graphics setting and normal setting to manually detect and nothing seems to be working. my monitor is also not receiving a signal from my laptop

What is it ? From HDMI to VGA is from digital to analog, you need a proper converter. Can Windows see TWO monitors or not ? Please try

(a) Hold down Win key and pree letter I,

(b) Click Display,

(c) Click Detect.   Can you see 1 and 2 ?

Regards

@Banhien

When i click detect it say there are no other monitors connected and I am on a laptop so it is probably displaying on 1 which would be my laptop screen

The adapter i am using is one from walmart by a company called ONN

i also googled the display setting and my settings look different from all the other display settings i see online. on mine it doesn't show me a monitor with a 1 on it
